2 weeks until surgery
Gosh, it's been ages. To make a long story short, my fibroids came back with a vengeance. I have six total that appear to be problematic, three considered "large" (tennis ball size each) and three medium. The three large cannot be ignored anymore. I can feel two of them and actually see one of them. I was able to trace the outline of one to get an idea of it's size (see photos below).
I am having another surgery in two weeks. Unfortunately, it's much more invasive. I'll be cut open like I'm delivering. The fibroids on my uterus have grown larger than my actual uterus, so a robotic/less-invasive procedure is not possible anymore.
While not ideal to have another surgery just 10-months after the first procedure, both were necessary for different reasons and helped get rid of fibroids in different areas. I am confident in my decision after seeing several doctors.
My anemia has gotten pretty bad. Not bad enough to require a blood transfusion yet, but I've had three iron infusions and have another one next week. As of right now, my hemoglobin is not high enough for surgery, so if the iron isn't effective in time, I might need blood anyway. Seems inevitable.
Anyway, I've been trying to eat clean to prepare for another surgery, but the anemia has made me extremely tired...I can barely make it through teaching all day. I come home and rest, try to make dinner and go to bed early. I went from sleeping 6-7 hours to 10-14 (and I'll still wake up tired). I feel dizzy, fatigued, even fainted once. So even though surgery isn't ideal, I'm actually looking forward to it because hopefully this will all be over soon.
In the meantime, here is another mode of surgery prep that someone suggested: writing a letter to my fibroids. Seems weird but worth a try. I mean they are each as large as a 3-month fetus and want to be noticed apparently. So here goes:
Dear fibroids,
You kind of suck as tenants. This is your two week notice of eviction.
You do not pay rent, you cause your host (me) problems day and night, and frankly, your presence cannot be ignored anymore because you're starting to take over the property. The other tenants are complaining and frankly have priority because they actually have important functions.
Thus, it's time for you to get out. Your removal will not be easy but well worth it. Please comply with authorities so there are not any more complications.
Thank you for your cooperation.
